The Faculty of Environmental Management of Prince of Songkla University arranged the Annual International Training Course on Global Warming Mitigation and Adaptation by Balancing Sustainable Energy Management (GSEM) 2019, from 30 January – 15 February 2019 in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, and Phattalung. This training course aimed at sharing Thailand’s knowledge and experiences regarding sustainable energy management concept for climate change mitigation and adaptation, which is supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Participants attending GSEM 2019 came from different parts of the world, with a total of 19 people from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosia and Herzegovina, Chile, Indonesia, Jordan, Kiribati, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, Maldives, Morocco, Samoa, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. They had a great chance to listen to special lectures from various expert researchers. Moreover, participants had the opportunity to visit the SPCG Public Company Limited in Bangkok, Trans Thai-Malaysia (Thailand) Limited and Chana Power Plant in Songkhla.
The GSEM 2019 Training Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kuaanan Techato, delivered a short speech at the closing ceremony and presented certificates to all participants.
