Enhancing the Expertise of International Affairs Officers in Taiwan

1

A group of PSU administrators and officers visited Taiwanese institutions between 30 November and 5 December 2017. The group, led by PSU Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, has visited three Taiwanese institutions of great renown: National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), and National Taiwan University (NTU).

Bilateral agreements were signed with NCKU and MCUT, paving the way for closer collaboration with both institutions, including student- and staff exchange, joint research and internship placement opportunities. At NTU, the team had the honor of participating in the 10th anniversary celebrations of their Office of International Affairs, meeting prominent NTU administrators at the event.

The visited institutions gave informative lectures and tours of their excellent facilities, many of which were deemed ideal for collaboration with their PSU counterparts.

The team also had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the region's cultural aspects, both classic and contemporary. They paid respect at Longshan Temple, visited the National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall and admired artwork at the Tswei-heng Gallery. A brief tour of the famed Taipei 101 tower completed the tour.

Overall, the five-day trip was a success both in terms of connections made and knowledge gained - a milestone in the ongoing internationalization efforts that will define PSU's leading role in the foreseeable future.
