H.E. Mr. Osman Bülent Tulun, Turkish Ambassador to Thailand, together with Mr. Yekta Kamil Noyan, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bangkok, honored PSU with a visit to Pattani Campus on March 29, 2016. PSU Administrators, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics, and Asst. Prof. Chitchanok Rahimmula, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, warmly welcomed the honorable guests. Mr. Triyogo Jatmiko, Consul at the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla, also kindly joined the welcoming committee for this auspicious event.
His Excellency thoughtfully accepted an invitation from the PSU Faculty of Political Science, located in Pattani Campus, to be an honorable keynote speaker on two special topics, namely "Synopsis of the Turkish Foreign Policy" and "Turkey-EU Relations". The audience for this notable event included PSU administrators, academic staff, researchers and students, as well as representatives from other local organizations, totaling approximately 200 persons.
His Excellency also took this opportunity to visit the PSU Turkish Studies Center, which was established in 2014, with the objectives of promoting Turkish Studies among Thai students and encouraging a closer collaboration between PSU and Turkish universities.
Furthermore, His Excellency met with administrators from many faculties in Pattani Campus and discussed about further collaboration between PSU and Turkish universities in various areas such as staff and student exchanges, visiting professors and joint research. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Bordin Waelateh, Vice President for Student Development at PSU Pattani Campus.
His Excellency's visit to PSU on this occasion was a great opportunity for the university to strengthen the collaboration and friendship with Turkey.
