H.E. Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, Ambassador of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, together with Dr. Nabahan Rashid Abdullah Al Maawali, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Research of the Faculty of Law, and Mr. Kalil Ibrahim Saleh Al Hashami from the International Relations Division, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman, honored PSU with their visit to Hat Yai Campus from October 1-3, 2015. The objective of the visit was to discuss the strengthening of the collaboration between SQU and PSU.
The esteemed visitors were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutamas Satasook, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and PSU administrative team. Vice President Chutamas conveyed PSU's gratitude to His Excellency for his dynamic commitment in the cooperation among Thai and Omani universities, and for providing PSU with the great chance to establish cooperation with the oldest, biggest and only public university in Oman.
During the two official meetings among SQU delegates and PSU representatives from the faculties of Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Islamic Studies, Law, Medicine, Natural Resources and Political Science, participants discussed future collaborative activities in many common areas, including exchange of students and academics, joint research and seminars, internship, training programs, visiting professors and many other activities of mutual benefit. In order to facilitate the joint activities, SQU and PSU plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the near future. Furthermore, PSU would like to invite H.H. Dr. Mona bint Fahad Al-Said, SQU Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation, to further discuss the concrete implementation of the proposed activities.
The honorable guests also cordially visited the PSU Business Incubation Center, Faculty of Medicine and the university's hospital, as well as the PSU Natural History Museum.
