Mr. Shiro Terashima, First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, visited PSU Hat Yai Campus on December 18, 2015. The objectives of his visit were to discuss the strengthening of the cooperation between PSU and Japanese educational institutions, as well as to thank PSU for annually hosting the Japan Education Fair at its Hat Yai Campus.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kewalin Thammasitboon, Assistant President for International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Panyarak Ngamsritragul, Associate Dean for Administration at PSU Faculty of Engineering; and representatives from the International Affairs Office warmly welcomed the honorable visitor.
During the meeting, the current and possible future collaborative activities between PSU and Japanese universities, as well as subsequent connections between PSU's technical departments and Japanese industrial sector were discussed. A mutually-shared interest was shown to the research in Disaster Management field. The discussions also concerned arrangements for the upcoming 2016 Japan Education Fair to be held on 16 February at PSU Hat Yai Campus, as well as the PSU's assistance in arranging the written examination for the Japanese Government Scholarships at the PSU Faculty of Engineering in June 2016.
