On 16 September 2021, PSU administrators, faculty, and 31 student recipients of the prestigious Royal Scholarship under Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Education Project to the Kingdom of Cambodia for academic year 2018-2021 humbly gathered from PSU’s five campuses for an online audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In addition, PSU Vice President for International Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot has respectfully delivered a report.

This ambitious royal project has been running at PSU from academic year 2012 until present, with a total of 148 students enrolled for 90 Bachelor's, 55 Master's, and three Doctoral degrees, producing 92 graduates with 53 Bachelor's and 39 Master's degrees. In academic year 2021, 32 students are studying in the program (25 Bachelor's, 9 Master's, and two Doctoral degrees).

Ms. Sochealing Ung, a scholarship recipient and 4th-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, said it was a great honor to receive this scholarship, and that studying for a Bachelor's degree in this field was her childhood dream come true. She explained that studying in a foreign country brought about several challenges, including language, school, and peers, thus it took time and effort to adjust. Ms. Ung promised that she will put a serious effort into studying and gaining experience to complete her goals, and will apply the knowledge for the benefit of mankind and society. She revealed that her post-graduation plans include improving the public health sector to offer better-quality treatment for future generations, as a reward for the scholarship opportunity that she has received.
