On 5 July 2023, PSU President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Assistant President for Promotion of Foreign Affairs; and Sinchai Kamolphiwong, Director of Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems Office, attended the 14th ASEAN University Network (AUN) Rectors’ Meeting, hosted by the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. AUN has a total of 30 core member universities from all ASEAN countries, and more than 150 associate member universities. Prince of Songkla University is proud to be one of the core member universities of AUN.
The current meeting was held under the theme “Changes in Global Higher Education and How Top University in ASEAN Respond". The top universities in the 10 ASEAN countries have discussed how to drive the development of higher education institutions through various projects under AUN.
At the meeting, a discussion was also held to share experiences and ideas, alongside a presentation of best practices in various fields to drive the university towards excellence by Dr. Thakerng, who gave an informative insight regarding the University’s Best Practices in Digital Transformation under the topic “Quality Standardization in University’s ICT System and Management Model” during this conference.
On the following day, PSU attended as an observer at the 38th AUN Board of Trustees (AUN-BOT) Meeting. The opening remarks were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Pasit Lorterapong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand. The purpose of the meeting was to report on the past year's performance, direction of operation, and cooperation of member universities.
