Six PSU delegates, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics, attended the Final Meeting and Peer Review under the UK-Thailand Transnational Education Programme in London, United Kingdom, from 14-18 February 2017. The meeting was organized by the British Council, Thailand. The PSU delegation consisted of Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutamas Satasook; Dean of the Faculty of Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilaiwan Chotigeat; Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Youravong; Head of the Information and Communication Programme of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Jarutas Pattanaphanchai; and PSU International Affairs Officer, Ms. Chongchit Ratyot.
The meeting aimed to be an experience-sharing session on the current partnerships between the participating members, to identify the relevant partnerships for future collaborations between British and Thai higher education institutions, and to share eventual supports available for promoting the transnational education links between the UK and Thailand.
PSU delegates also visited the University of Reading (UOR) on February 17, 2017. On this occasion, they discussed future academic collaboration with representatives from UOR. The PSU Faculty of Science showed its interest in developing a 3+1 program in Chemistry/Biology with UOR. The PSU Faculty of Agro-Industry is also interested in developing a 3+1 program in Food Science and Technology (B.Sc.). Furthermore, PSU expressed its interest in setting up a 2+2 program in Chemistry with UOR. PSU and UOR agreed to firstly establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at university level, in order to facilitate future collaborative activities.
