PSU hosts 16th SciUS Camp themed "Sustainability Empowerment Sharing Innovation"

Science Classrooms in University (SCiUS) camp, hosted by Faculty of Science, PSU organized the 16th SciUS Camp under the theme "Sustainability Empowerment Sharing Innovation". The event was presided over by Mr. Permsuk Sutchaphiwat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanit Chalermyanont, PSU Vice President for Planning and Finance. Prof. Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and project director on PSU Hat Yai Campus, extended a warm welcome to over 1,000 students, administrators, faculty members, and staff at the International Convention Center.

Dr. Anchana highlighted that the 16th SciUS Camp presents an excellent opportunity to foster relationships and exchange learning experiences among students, teachers, professors, within the network. Particularly, it promotes integrated learning in science, technology, and local culture through educational field trips. Songkhla province serves as a rich learning environment encompassing history, science, and notably, as the host of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in 2025, actively propelling the province towards becoming a Sport City.

Furthermore, the event featured special lectures on "Creating Inventions by Scientists" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Warakorn Limbut; "Sharing Ideas in Creating Rubber Value" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekwipoo Kalkornsurapranee; and "Science Communication" by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirawit Ittisoponpisan. Additionally, there was a session on "Students as Future Leaders in Driving the Country Forward" by Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha. Recreational activities and sports programs complemented the event throughout the 4 days.
