Prince of Songkla University congratulates its brilliant researchers for winning two silver and two bronze medals, in addition to two special prizes, at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions held in Geneva, Switzerland, between 10-14 April 2019. The annual event is supported by the Swiss government and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This year, the exhibition featured over 1,000 entries from 40 countries around the world, boasting an attendance of over 60,000 visitors.
The PSU research teams received the following awards:
- Silver Medal for the research project titled "PSU IoT Gateway and Thing Platform for Smart City", by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wannarat Suntiamorntut, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sakuna Charoenpanyasak, Mr. Jirasak Nopparat, Mr. Mongkon Manopiroonporn, and Ms. Sunisa Junrat, Digital Research and Innovation Institute;
- Silver Medal for the research project titled "Impact absorber material prepared from natural rubber", by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornsiri Kaewpradit, Faculty of Engineering, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ekwipoo Kalkornsurapranee, Faculty of Science;
- Bronze Medal and Special Prize from Russia for the research project titled "Interactive wireless endoscope", by Asst. Prof. Dr. Surapong Chatpun, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sunton Wongsiri, M.D., Faculty of Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornchai Phukpattaranont, Faculty of Engineering;
- Bronze Medal and Special Prize from Taiwan for the research project titled "Potential therapeutic benefits of Ya-Samarn-Phlae (YaSP) as a natural polyherbal remedy for diabetic wound healing", by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sasitorn Chusri, Mr. Teerawat Sudkhaw, Ms. Oraphan Sakulkeo, Mrs. Kochakorn Sukjan Inthanuchit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Surasak Limsuwan, Faculty of Traditional Thai Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sanan Subhadhirasakul, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
