PSU students joined the final competition of the Youth Innovation Competition on Lantsang-Mekong Region’s Governance and Development (YICMG) in Lao PDR, 26 – 30 January 2018. Student teams gave a presentation on “The development of tourism and other green industries”, and PSU students won the “best project for incubation” team prize this year. Additionally, Ms. Nakarin Ninnipa, a student from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Sciences, Trang campus, won “the best multinational team award” for a project titled “Ecotourism with application”.
The Youth Innovation Competition on Lantsang-Mekong Region’s Governance and Development (YICMG) is a competition that encourages students from countries in the Lantsang-Mekong region to initiate and present ideas about the development of the Lantsang-Mekong River. The students have to form a team and work together to build a project under each year’s theme. If their project is selected by the organizer, they will be invited to have a final competition in China, Laos etc. In this auspicious competition this year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, PSU President, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Nathavit Portjanatanti, Vice President of PSU Trang Campus, also honored the event by presiding the opening ceremony, joining the conference committee, and visiting the student teams of each country. In addition, Mr. Treechart Laokaewnoo, Vice Dean, and Ms. Opor Chaisangapong, lecturer from the Faculty of Architecture, also joined this competition as selected experts to advise the student teams.
