PSU Authentic Thai Camp 2019

PSU Authentic Thai Camp 2019 was an eye-opening experience to learn about the Land of Smiles.

The PSU International Affairs Office invited students from partner universities to participate in the university’s annual Authentic Thai Camp, held from 18 to 31 August 2019. The two-week long activity was organized with the objective to provide opportunities for the 65 participants from China and Japan to learn about the unique aspects of Thai culture, assisted by 16 Thai student volunteers throughout the camp.

During this outstanding summer program, participants joined activities and classes on various subjects, such as Thai language, cooking, traditional medicine, boxing, music, dancing, and Thai way of life. Off-campus, the program included a visit to a local village to showcase sufficiency economy practices and local Thai handicraft.

The highlight of the summer camp was a 3-day trip to Krabi province with a wide variety of activities, including snorkeling around the wonderful islands of southern Thailand. A visit to the famous Krabi night market, relaxing on beautiful Ao Nang beach, and a dip in the scenic Emerald Pool completed the experience.
