On 15 December 2021, Mr. Naratorn Boonpiam and Mr. Tanakorn Karode, Master's degree students in Computer Science (International Program), and their advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Warodom Werapun at the College of Computing, PSU Phuket Campus, won the Merit Award at the APICTA 2020-2021 Software Competition in Malaysia.

Mr. Tanakorn explained that prior to this event, they had won the national championship to represent the country. After going through extensive training by the Association of Thai Information Technology Industry (ACTI), they went to compete at the international level, marking the second time that PSU Phuket Campus was able to field competitors in this event.

Winning the prestigious Merit Award represents another step in the proud tradition of the College of Computing and Prince of Songkla University, where students and professors have built reputations and won awards in Asian competitions.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers have combined the entries from 2020 and 2021 for a simultaneous online competition, with participants attending from various countries in the Asia Pacific region.
