Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pharkphoom Panichayupakaranant from the PSU Faculty of Pharmacy received a gold medal and a special award from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), Korea, at the "International Trade Fair – Ideas, Inventions and New Products" (iENA 2022), for research on “[6]-Gingerol Pastilles for Motion Sickness” held on 27-30 October 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany.

The iENA is the most important international invention and innovation competition in the European Union. The annual event, held for the 74th time, drew around 500 participating inventors and researchers from over 20 countries, with more than 10,000 visitors attending this year. Over 80 works of Thai researchers have been included in the contest. Each entry has been considered by a committee of experts, screening for important criteria, including standard of invention and research work, readiness to bring the results to good use, and intellectual property registration. The contest also included works that have received national awards such as the National Research Award, and is considered a prime venue to showcase the potential of Thai researchers on the global stage.
