PSU participated in the 7th traditional event aimed at strengthening university ties among Khon Kaen University (KKU), Prince of Songkla University (PSU), and Chiang Mai University (CMU)

       From 1-2 December 2023, PSU, led by PSU president, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, along with executives and staff, participated in the 7th tradition of Khon Kaen University (KKU), Prince of Songkla University (PSU), and Chiang Mai University (CMU). The event was hosted by Chiang Mai University at Centara Riverside Hotel, Chiang Mai. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitipong Yodmongkol, Vice President of CMU, presented the objectives of the event. Prof. Dr. Pongrak Sribunditmongkol, President of CMU, welcomed the participants, and the presidents of the three universities jointly inaugurated the event. A signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the exchange of knowledge and traditions among the three universities was also held simultaneously.

       The traditional event of KKU, PSU, and CMU was initiated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the exchange of knowledge and traditions among the three universities, under the theme "Let's Walk Together."

       The purpose is to facilitate policy and operational knowledge exchange across various areas that align with the visions and missions of each university, as well as to build collaborative networks to achieve success and, ultimately, to address the needs of communities, society, and the country. Additionally, the initiative seeks to contribute to economic and social development.

 

       The event included a special lecture on the topic of "Government Policies in Supporting Higher Education" delivered by Dr. Kitipong Promwong, Director of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Additionally, there was also a joint knowledge exchange among the three universities covering 12 different topics, with distinguished speakers. The event attracted a total of 750 attendees, fostering a significant platform for information sharing and collaboration among participants.

       Furthermore, during the event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat, the President of PSU, received the flag symbolizing of the traditional event from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongrak, the President of CMU, signifying that PSU will host the event in 2024. The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, the President of KKU, along with other executives and staff, marking the ceremonial transition and preparation for the upcoming event hosted by PSU in the following year.
