College of Computing, lecturer and student awarded at Thailand Inventor's Day 2022

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Tongtep and Mr. Warun Singhal (Digital Engineering International Program student) from the College of Computing, PSU Phuket Campus, have received the Invention Award in Information Technology and Communication Arts from the National Research Council of Thailand, at Thailand Inventor's Day 2022. The award-winning work is titled “Memmify - Artificial Intelligence Application for Thai Language Processing and Analysis for All”. The event was held on 2 February 2022 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangkok.

Memmify is an artificial intelligence program in the form of a web application that allows easy-to-use data analysis and processing. Users enter data into the system by simply taking notes. The program analyzes and processes the data automatically through character recognition, tag suggestion, text-to-speech, sentiment analysis, and document categorization. The app uses the API “AI FOR THAI”, an artificial intelligence technology service platform developed by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).
