PSU, in collaboration with La Vela Hotel Group, Khao Lak, Phang Nga, and the Andaman and Gulf Health Promotion Hotels Association, organized a press conference to launch a rehabilitation program for people with persistent symptoms after being cured of COVID-19 (post-COVID syndrome). The program employs a holistic approach, integrating Thai traditional medicine and modern medicine.        The holistic rehabilitation program for people with post-COVID syndrome, featuring Thai traditional medicine integrated with modern medicine, was co-developed by the Faculty of Thai Traditional Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine. The aim of the program was to cure patients with persistent symptoms after recovering from COVID-19. The program focuses on holistic care that combines the knowledge of Thai traditional and Western medicine such as reflexology, breathing stimulation, aroma therapy, breathing exercises, meditation therapy, occupational therapy, and food therapy. The program was first implemented at the La Vela Hotel for the treatment of patients volunteering for the project. The results showed significant reduction in the severity of symptoms.

In addition to the rehabilitation program, three short-term training courses in the care of post-COVID syndrome patients have been developed to train entrepreneurs and related public health staff, with the aim to raise the level of service in the workplace, and to facilitate Thailand’s progress in the world of health tourism.
